Mr. Barbieri serves as Chief Financial Officer for SPCIA where he is responsible for financial affairs and operations. Additionally, Mr. Barbieri serves as Chief Operating Officer of Merger & Acquisition Services, an investment bank; and Chief Financial Officer and Financial Operations Principal (FinOp) of Merger & Acquisition Capital Services, LLC, a broker-dealer.
Mr. Barbieri has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, primarily at Gen Re (a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway). At Gen Re he advanced to Vice President of Global Finance, where his responsibilities included U.S. GAAP reporting/ consolidation, Sarb/Ox, auditor relations, global budgeting/ forecasting, cash management and team building. Mr. Barbieri is recognized as a subject-matter expert in the application and interpretation of complex accounting and financial reporting standards, in accordance with the FASB and the SEC.
Mr. Barbieri is a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics and was a two time All American Diver. He earned a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of New Haven and is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). He currently holds the following FINRA licenses; Investment Banking Representative (Series 79), Financial and Operations Principal (Series 27), the Uniform Securities State Agent (Series 63), and General Securities Principal (Series 24).
